How do I cite my sources?

Answer

Many databases have a citation function. When you click on the title of a result, you will usually see a "cite" tab located on the right.  When you click this link, you will be given the option to choose your citation style. However, since the citation is computer-generated, it may not be correct. Always, always, always check your citation manual before submitting the assignment.

You can also use the library's guides for APA, MLA, and Chicago Style to build and check your citations:

MLA 9th edition style guide

Avoid Plagiarism

While working on your paper, you will probably use a variety of sources:  books, articles, interviews, lecture notes, videos, etc. When presenting ideas developed by others, don't forget to provide a reference every time you quote or paraphrase someone else’s ideas, theories, or data. This means you need both in-text citations as well as a References page at the end.

Another very helpful resource is Purdue OWL.
